| | | | The Fight for Freedom Starts at Home | When we started Upward News, our mission was to expose the left's indoctrination in schools. From kindergarten classrooms to history books, they've used education to push their agenda. Even now, with Trump's win, the fight isn't over. Progressives are deeply embedded in our schools and culture, and they're not stopping. | That's why the Tuttle Twins books are a game changer. They teach kids the truth about liberty, free markets, and American values—ideas that progressives don't want them to learn. | I got several Tuttle Twins sets, and they're incredible. The stories are fun and engaging, and the hardcover quality is built to last. These books are perfect for your kids or grandkids, and they deserve a spot on your family's bookshelf. | Prepare the next generation to stand for freedom. | Get Tuttle Twins Books Today* → | -Ari |

| | WHAT WE'RE WATCHING | | 💡 Donald Trump introduced a slate of ambitious ideas. President-elect Trump's transition team reportedly wants to withdraw from the World Health Organization on Day One, while during his speech at AmericaFest, he floated taking back control of the Panama Canal, citing concerns over high fees. He also recommended renaming Alaska's Mount Denali — which was changed by Barack Obama — back to Mount McKinley. | ✅ Congress passed a government funding bill at the eleventh hour. Just as the clock expired, the Senate passed a bill, then signed into law by President Biden, to fund the government through mid-March, extend the farm bill for one year, and allocate $100 billion in disaster relief alongside $30 billion in emergency aid for farmers. The 118-page law, down from its original 1,500 pages, made no changes to the debt ceiling, contrary to the wishes of President-elect Trump. | ⚖️ Biden is commuting nearly every federal death row prisoner. President Biden reduced the sentences of 37 of 40 federal death row inmates to life without parole, though notably excluded the Charleston black church shooter, the Boston Marathon bomber, and the Tree of Life Synagogue shooter, whose death sentences remain intact. The commutations come as Biden seeks to prevent the incoming Trump administration from resuming executions, continuing his moratorium on federal capital punishment since 2021. | 🇩🇪 Saudi Arabia warned Germany about the Christmas market terror suspect. Saudi officials claim they repeatedly alerted German authorities about the suspect's extremist views before he allegedly drove his car into a crowded Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany, but were ignored. Germany is now investigating, while Saudi Arabia provides details about his history, including accusations of human trafficking and links to Saudi exile networks. |

| | WHAT WE'RE HEARING | Lara Trump is removing her name from consideration to fill Marco Rubio's soon-vacant Senate seat. Progressive commentator Ana Kasparian lost it at the idea of Kamala Harris becoming the governor of California. Progressive Cenk Uygur — who is Ana Kasparian's co-host on The Young Turks — received a standing ovation during his appearance at the conservative conference AmericaFest. The Saturday Night Live crowd wildly celebrated when the alleged healthcare CEO murderer, Luigi Mangione, was mentioned. Tech reporter Kara Swisher is reportedly working to gather a group of investors to acquire The Washington Post from Jeff Bezos.

Federal authorities arrested 22 alleged members of the violent Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang earlier this month in New York City. National security expert Elbridge Colby was nominated to be Donald Trump's under secretary of defense for policy. Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX) was found in a memory care nursing home after being absent from Congress for around six months. | | *Indicates content from our sponsors | | MY THOUGHTS | AmericaFest and the Rise Of Charlie Kirk | | Good morning. Turning Point USA's AmericaFest has come to an end. The four-day event featured the biggest names in conservative politics — from commentators to policymakers to Trump cabinet members — culminating in a headline speech by the President-elect himself. | It marked a major moment for the conservative movement, which is now ascendant in both politics and the culture war after four years of intense battles. One clear takeaway from the conference was the rising influence of Charlie Kirk. Having founded Turning Point USA at 19, Kirk, now 31, has cemented his position as a unifying force within the movement. There's a lot more to say write about this — and I will. | Also, during the event, I conducted many interviews — including one with the legendary Roger Stone. More interviews are already lined up, and we'll be working to bring them to you in the coming weeks. Transcripts will be available for all readers, with audio and video content exclusive to paid subscribers. | Stay tuned. | |
