Good morning! On this day in 1889, H. S. Barber carved his name into the rock at the Devil's Sinkhole. Barber was the first known explorer of the cave near Rocksprings in Edwards County, the entrance to which is a 50-foot-wide hole in the ground that drops 350 feet into a 320-foot-wide chamber. Paxton Sues Doc for Giving Hormones to Minors

Attorney General Ken Paxton sued Dallas doctor May Lau for providing hormone replacement treatments to 21 minors. This is a key case tied to Senate Bill 14, which bans such treatments for youth.

Paxton, who is seeking $1 million plus civil penalties, said in a statement, "Doctors who continue to provide these harmful 'gender transition' drugs and treatments will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law."

The lawsuit claims that Dr. Lau, a pediatrician at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, prescribed testosterone to patients between the ages of 14 and 17. If found guilty, Dr. Lau could lose her medical license.

No. 1 Longhorns vs No. 5 Bulldogs Today

The top-ranked Texas Longhorns (6-0) take on the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs (5-1) at home today (6:30 p.m. Central on ABC). It's their first meeting since the 2019 Sugar Bowl, which Texas won 28-21.

Texas, favored by 5 points at press time, is coming off a 34-3 drubbing of the Oklahoma Sooners last week in the Red River Shootout, while Georgia has been perfect aside from a close loss to Alabama in Week 5.

The highly-anticipated match provides the Longhorns with their first major test since joining the Southeastern Conference this year.

1,500-Mile Adventure Trail to Open

A 1,500-mile Texas adventure trail for hikers, bikers, and horseback riders is expected to open next spring. Stretching from Orange to El Paso and traversing the Hill Country, the Big Bend, and Guadalupe Peak, the Cross Texas Trail, or XTX, is being developed by former state representative Charlie Gandy and the group Bike Texas.

The preliminary route, which employs gravel back roads and one-lane highways, is currently being tested. Gandy’s ambitious vision for the XTX is to rival the famed Appalachian, Pacific Crest, and Continental Divide trails.

"For a lot of Texans, it’s a point of pride. All we're doing is harnessing the energy of that point of pride and turning it into something that we can share,” said Gandy.
