A message to our WebMD community in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy:

The devastation of Hurricane Sandy has impacted the lives of many families, neighbors and friends and will continue to impact them as the full extent of the damage becomes apparent.

Please know that WebMD's primary concern will always be your health, safety and wellness, especially during this difficult time. The storm caused tremendous damage to people's lives and property, and we hope all of those affected are on a path to recovery. WebMD strives to provide relevant and accurate information for all our users and their families.

Our own WebMD family has been affected by Hurricane Sandy. More than 700 employees from our New York City and New Jersey offices are dealing with the aftermath. And WebMD's headquarters in lower Manhattan continues to be without power.

The WebMD Technology team has been keeping our systems, people and websites online, while our Editorial teams have been striving to provide health information relevant for those impacted by the storm. As a result, we have not had any disruption of service to the millions of you who rely on us every day.

We believe that preparation and knowledge are some of your greatest tools in improving and maintaining your well-being. Here is some information that may be helpful if you are affected by the storm:

  • How to Deal with Mold after a Flood
  • Managing Stress through a Storm

With the possible threat of a winter storm, we believe this story may be especially relevant:
