A large fire near Dallas Love Field damaged six commercial buildings Monday night.

Formula 1 fined the Circuit of the Americas race facility nearly $550,000 after fans invaded the track during the cooldown lap of Sunday's U.S. Grand Prix in Austin.

Although fans are allowed on the track for podium celebrations after the race, about 200 spectators climbed over fences to reach the track before all drivers had stopped.

COTA staff must submit a plan to fortify vulnerable entry points and prevent similar incidents in the future.

Nearly 612,000 people moved to Texas in 2023, with 43% coming from another country, according to recently released U.S. Census Bureau migration data.

California sent the most movers from another state (93,970), followed by Florida (50,513), Oklahoma (29,743), New York (29,610), and Louisiana (28,458).

Conversely, more than 478,000 people left Texas last year. California was the most popular destination, with just over 38,000 moving there.

Florida (37,781), Colorado (32,150), Oklahoma (31,506), and Georgia (20,923) also saw an influx of new residents from the Lone Star State.

Take a Peek Behind the (Smart) Curtain

The ballpark isn't the only place to look for home runs. Best Buy has a proven record of placing early bets on home technology products that go on to dominate the market. For example:

  • Ring – acquired by Amazon for $1.2B

  • Nest – acquired by Google for $3.2B

Pay attention, because Best Buy just unveiled a new smart-home product in 100+ stores with massive potential – RYSE Smart Shades. RYSE is positioned to dominate the smart shades market (currently growing 50% annually) and there's still time to invest in their $1.75/share public offering.

Current investors' share value has risen 40% year-over-year, with strong upside as they scale into retail. Missed out on Ring and Nest? This is your chance to secure your stake in the smart home market.

Invest in RYSE before they become a household name.

Venture capitalists know how difficult it is to spot promising early investment opportunities, and the story of the Ring doorbell is the perfect example. Even the all-knowing Sharks from Shark Tank declined the offer to buy 10% of Ring for $700,000, and now the company has blown up (acquired by Amazon for $1B), all thanks to retail distribution.

Next, let's turn our attention to RYSE: the brand set to follow a similar trajectory. The founder pitched on Canada's version of Shark Tank, Dragons' Den, received two offers, and now their patented smart shades tech is currently sold in over 100 Best Buy stores.
