Designed to shine a spotlight on some of the country's most beautiful trails, the San Jose Trail Challenge brings a 10k, a Half Marathon and a 50k to northern California with a mix of steep fun trails and the stunning redwood forest in the surrounding.
Last spots are available for our first standalone trail of the season, don't miss it! | |  | If you're just starting on your trail journey, or if you're keen for a shorter challenge, the San Jose 10k it's a great choice for the race weekend.
It involves one major climb, an aid station at the halfway point, followed by one major descent that will test your quads. The trails are relatively non-technical but are very steep in places. | | | |  | A bit longer, some more vert to the legs, but still challenging. The mythic half marathon distance awaits for extra trail exploring at the Santa Cruz mountains.
The course continues past the turnaround point of the 10k with a long, gradual descent along pristine mountain bike trails. At the bottom racers will find another aid station (10.5km or 6.6 miles) where they'll turn around and head back to the start, following mostly the same route with one variation on the final downhill to end up on the beautiful Sanborn County Park. | | | |  | Up for a longer day out surrounded by the pure nature of the woods? The San Jose Trail Challenge 50k is a two-loop course that will make you dive deep into the spectacular californian classic trails, emerging with a rewarded full-heart after such an accomplishment.
The course is a double out-and-back, with each lap continuing past the half marathon turnaround for another few kilometers on a flat fire road along a reservoir. Get down to Sanborn County Park for some energy pump, your drop bag and get ready to jump again on the trails for the extra dose of redwood beauty. | | | |  | Sanborn County Park is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains, a beautiful coastal range boasting diverse terrain including old growth redwood groves and amazing wineries. Racers should plan to spend some extra time in this region hiking, sipping, and exploring the views. San Jose and the surrounding cities of Campbell and Saratoga boast world class shopping and restaurants, and are adjacent to the metropolitan San Francisco Bay Area.
