Trump Cabinet Picks Get Bomb Threats

Several of President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet nominees and administration appointees faced bomb threats and "swatting" attacks on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Rep. Elise Stefanik, Trump's nominee for U.N. ambassador, was among those targeted while traveling with her family, while former Rep. Matt Gaetz, who recently withdrew his bid for attorney general, had a bomb squad respond to his Florida home.

The FBI is investigating the numerous threats targeting appointees for departments including Agriculture, Housing, and Labor, with some receiving pro-Palestinian-themed messages and others having bomb squads dispatched to their homes.

None of the incidents involved Trump or Vice President-elect JD Vance, who are under Secret Service protection, while transition spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt condemned the threats as "violent, unAmerican threats."

China Releases Three American Prisoners

The Biden administration secured the release of three Americans detained in China through a prisoner swap involving at least one Chinese citizen held in U.S. custody.

U.S. officials confirmed Mark Swidan, Kai Li, and John Leung were freed following years of imprisonment on alleged spying and drug-trafficking charges.

The U.S. had classified Li and Swidan as wrongfully detained, engaging in numerous talks with Chinese officials over the past four years regarding a possible release.

The White House has not disclosed who, if anyone, was released in exchange for the three U.S. citizens.

How America Celebrates Thanksgiving

Americans are regionally divided on trends, family traditions, and what makes a city a festive destination, according to studies on how the nation celebrates Thanksgiving.

One study found that Americans even pronounce Thanksgiving in three distinct ways: "THANGS-giv-ing," "THANKSgiving," and "thanksGIVing," reflecting regional differences in speech.

Thanksgiving side dishes also had regional preferences, with candied yams favored in the West, green bean casserole in the Midwest, cornbread dressing in the South, and potato casserole in the East.

A recent survey named San Diego, California, as the best city to visit for Thanksgiving, citing its numerous highly rated restaurants. Atlanta, Georgia, also made the list for its holiday decorations and airport.

➤ President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, a Stanford University health policy professor known for opposing COVID-19 lockdowns, as director of the National Institutes of Health. (More)

➤ Speaking of the president-elect, Emerson College's first post-election poll revealed Trump's favorability increased by six points to 54%, while President Joe Biden's job approval fell to a four-year low of 36%. (More)

➤ Meanwhile, the Harris campaign admitted internal polls never showed her defeating Trump, despite assuring donors they could win and secure three to four of the swing states. (More)

It's a bright sign for America's future that folks are ditching the propaganda factories, and I want as many of those people as possible to join our movement for reliable news.
