Supreme Court: Kennedy Stays on the Ballot

The Supreme Court rejected a last-minute appeal on Tuesday to remove Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s name from the ballot in Wisconsin and Michigan.

Kennedy sought to have his name withdrawn from these battleground states after dropping out of the race and endorsing former President Donald Trump. Votes cast for Kennedy could impact a close race, even though he's no longer running.

The court provided no reason for rejecting Kennedy's appeal. However, election officials in Wisconsin and Michigan described the ballot change as impossible because early voting is already well underway.

More Newspapers End Endorsements

USA Today announced Monday that it will not endorse a presidential candidate this election cycle, joining the Los Angeles Times and Washington Post in sidestepping the traditional journalism practice.

The Minnesota Star Tribune, Sun Sentinel, Tampa Bay Times, and the Omaha World-Herald, are among other larger regional and national newspapers not endorsing a candidate. The move may be motivated by papers unwilling to lose revenue and readers, according to an industry expert.

The Washington Post reportedly lost over 200,000 digital subscriptions—about 8% of its digital and print subscribers—since deciding not to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris.

Jeff Bezos, the Washington Post owner, on Monday defended the decision, calling it "principled," as Americans believe the media is biased.

Comedic Actress Teri Garr Dead at 79

Teri Garr, an Oscar-nominated comedic actress renowned for her roles in Young Frankenstein, Mr. Mom, and Tootsie, has died from complications related to multiple sclerosis. She was 79.

In a career spanning over 40 years, Garr captivated audiences with her quirky persona and quick wit, becoming a familiar face in movies and on sitcoms and late-night shows. Television host David Letterman called her one of his favorite guests.

Mr. Mom co-star Michael Keaton described Garr as legendary and her comedic work, especially in Young Frankenstein, as "great." You can see a clip here.

Garr is survived by her daughter, Molly O'Neil, and a grandson, Tyryn. You can see her life in photos here.
