| | Mary-Ellen Kramer has been busy reviewing products from the brand Mario Badescu. If you're not familiar with the brand, look for it the next time you're at Nordstroms or Ulta. The line has a full product line-up with products ranging from skin and hair. Mary-Ellen reviewed seven of their products for us. Click the links to be taken right to the reviews. | | Cleansing and Toning Mario Badescu: Seaweed Cleansing Soap - Those of us with sensitive skin have been brainwashed to think that clear, plain, and boring are always the best products for us, so this cleanser's green color, seaweed and fragrance might make you nervous about trying it. Mario Badescu: Chamomile Cleansing Lotion - This is a decent toner (even though it's described as a lotion, you would recognize it more as a toner). It's not a pretty product being brown in color, but the tiny ingredient list of water and chamomile extract show no hint of color or fragrance, so we'll take the brown in exchange. | Mask and Scrub Mario Badescu: Flower & Tonic Mask - This is just an OK mask. It's not what we are accustomed to as far as masks go because the consistency is different (very thin and watery). Our major complaint is that we would prefer that it didn't make our face quite as tight while we had it on. But perhaps our skin was not oily enough for best results. Mario Badescu: Almond & Honey Non-Abrasive Face Scrub - This face scrub is that it smells delicious! The combination of almond and honey smells like there is a delectable pastry with you in the shower. It is a good scrub that makes your face feel clean and it gives you the sense that you have scrubbed off dead skin cells. But the term "non-abrasive" description is definitely misleading. | Moisturizers Mario Badescu: Almond & Honey Non-Abrasive Face Scrub - This product comes in a very small bottle and we quickly found out why: this is a powerful moisturizer. You have to make sure you use it sparingly or you will end up with a very greasy face. We like that it has SPF 15 included and that it doesn't cause any irritations or breakouts. Mario Badescu: Seaweed Night Cream - This is a really great night cream, especially for the price ($20). It doesn't promise to make you look 20 years younger or do anything magical, but it does promise to hydrate your skin and it does that wonderfully. It also does not bother sensitive skin. | Eye Cream Mario Badescu: Chamomile Eye Cream - This eye cream works well at keeping your skin hydrated, but does not do anything to help minimize wrinkles or fine lines. The company does not make this claim on the product's jar, but they do mention on their web site that this eye cream minimizes fine lines and wrinkles. Since this is the reason many people buy an eye cream, we thought it was important to note that we did not find it to work on fine lines and wrinkles. | | | | Related Searches | | | | Featured Articles | | | | | | Sign up for more free newsletters on your favorite topics | | | | You are receiving this newsletter because you subscribed to the About.com Skin Care newsletter.
