Welcome to October!

There is a lot to be excited about this month. For one, we're officially headed into Spooky Season. Keep an eye out later this month for a fun Halloween-themed challenge based on our DEKA FIRE bodyweight test. You won't want to 👻 GHOST 👻 this one.

But the bigger news is that DEKA World Championship invites continue to hit mailboxes in the coming weeks. We've seen a ton of excitement as people have received and shared their invites on social media. Keep doing that so we can keep celebrating your epic achievements.

As you know, qualifying and receiving your invite is just the first step. Next is to get your training in so you can be in peak form when you hit the DEKA World Championship start line in Ocala, Florida this December.
If you're anxiously awaiting your DEKA World Championship invite, here is the schedule for invite emails for the month of October:

Got questions about World Champs? You'll likely find everything you need to know inside the 2024 DEKA World Championship FAQ. Give it a read and get ready for an epic weekend of celebrating fitness in Florida this December.
You're in the home stretch in the DEKA Arena. You glance at your watch and see you're making good time. Just two zones to go...what could go wrong?

Just gotta get through Zone 9: the 100 meter sled push/pull.

Some people can beast this out quickly. And others feel like they might need to have their belongings sent over because they're definitely moving in for the long term.

Want to be a part of the first group and not the second? Let's talk about how to Own the Zone for Zone 9.

For this one, we have Alim Shabazz, owner of DEKA Affiliate Big Tire Bootcamp in Oahu, Hawaii with three tips to help you improve your split and dominate this zone:

1. Form & Technique: stay low and drive through your legs to maintain momentum during the sled push. Keep your core engaged and use full-body force to maximize power on the pull.

2. Alternate Exercises: incorporate prowler pushes and heavy rope pulls into your training to build the strength and endurance needed for the sled.

3. Improve Split Time: focus on explosive lower body movements like jump squats and kettlebell swings to increase power and reduce transition time between pushes and pulls.
