Secret Service Fire on Man Targeting Trump

Secret Service agents fired at a man who pointed a rifle at former President Donald Trump while he was golfing at his West Palm Beach club. Follow live updates here.

The suspect fled but was later apprehended on I-95 in a neighboring county. He was identified as Ryan Wesley Routh.

Trump was unharmed, and the FBI is investigating what it calls "an apparent attempted assassination." Leaders from both parties condemned the use of violence in politics.

In an e-mail, Trump reassured followers he was safe. “Nothing will slow me down," he wrote. "I will NEVER SURRENDER! I will always love you for supporting me.”

This incident follows an assassination attempt two months ago when Trump was shot and wounded at a Pennsylvania rally.

IRS Whistleblowers Sue Hunter Biden’s Attorney

IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler have filed a $20 million defamation lawsuit against Hunter Biden's attorney, Abbe Lowell.

They allege Lowell falsely accused them of criminal acts after they testified that the Department of Justice gave preferential treatment to President Biden's son during an investigation into international business affairs.

Lowell responded by claiming Shapley and Ziegler violated grand jury secrecy rules and taxpayer protection laws—what the lawsuit names as an act of “clear malice” that has tarnished the plaintiffs’ reputations.

Polaris Dawn Returns to Earth

Space X’s Polaris Dawn crew returned safely to Earth early Sunday morning, splashing down in Crew Dragon Resilience off the coast of Dry Tortugas, Florida. Photos are here.

The mission made history by performing the first commercial spacewalk and reaching the highest orbit since the Apollo 17 moon mission in 1972.

Crew member and violinist Sarah Gillis released a music video during the mission. Her space performance, sent to Earth via satellite, is accompanied by orchestras worldwide. You can watch the video here.
