WEEKEND RECAP
Pittsfield "Home of Spartan" Vermont
Death Race, the legendary — but unmistakably real — event on Spartan founder Joe De Sena's farm saw four finishers: Beau Greene, Daniel Gordon, Ryan Gore, Nick Arganbright.

Some of the many harrowing challenges included miles of fireman's carries, wheelbarrow crawls, overhead carries, bear crawls, a blindfolded 2500-rep workout, aqua burpees, yoke carries, riddles, a scavenger hunt through miles of mountain trails with no map, and knot-tying challenges. Oh — and of course, solving a Rubik's Cube in icy-cold water.

In addition to the Death Race, a 24-hour Hurricane Heat occurred with 33 finishers that included brutal tasks like two treks to the mountain top, boat-dragging competitions, and creating various ways to move a single grain of rice. At least the weather was warm.
St. Pölten, Austria
They call themselves "the fittest city" and it shows. Athletes left the city behind to face forests, meadows, and rolling hills.
Hugo, Minnesota
You betcha Tough Mudder Twin Cities was the muddiest venue of 2024 so far, thanks to rainstorms ahead of this teamwork-focused event, where Electroshock Therapy medals were handed out to deserving participants.
Midlands, UK
The race director put even the hardiest Spartans through their paces by testing grip strength with an epic carry sequence, including a sandbag carry, plate drag, bucket carry, and Hercules Hoist sequence.
Zaragoza, Spain
In the last qualifying DEKA event for the upcoming DEKA CUP in Madrid, athlete Muntsa Ciuró kept fierce competitors at bay to achieve her second win of the season.
