| | Breaking Updates | | NYC Mayor Adams Suggests Illegal Immigrants Become Lifeguards Because They Are 'Excellent Swimmers' | Mayor Adams assumes that illegal aliens are good swimmers, perhaps because they had to swim to get here - isn't that, well, racist? Why didn't he just come right out and suggest that a certain portion of their clothing may contain more moisture due to that traversing of the Rio Grande?
Hizzoner dropped the comment after being asked during a City Hall briefing about lifeguard staffing at the city's beaches and pools, which have increasingly had issues in recent years, ahead of Memorial Day. Going off on a tangent, Adams indicated that Gotham's lifeguard shortages could easily be fixed if migrant work visas were being expedited for those jobs that needed to be filled quickly.
"How do we have a large body of people that are in our city, our country, that are excellent swimmers and at the same time we need lifeguards — and the only obstacle is that we won't give them the right to work to become a lifeguard," the mayor said.
"That just doesn't make sense."
It's baffling how this man, elected to run the city by the (presumably) taxpaying residents of New York, is this utterly clueless. There's just no good way to defend this statement. But maybe he can fill some other city employment shortages with some other illegal immigrants from other parts of the world, based on the criteria he has shown here.
People wonder what's gone wrong with the Big Apple over the last few years; when you go from de Blasio to this guy, you really are jumping from frying pan to fire. Mayor Adams is giving Joe Biden a run for his money when it comes to cluelessness. | Read more updates here |

| | Media Suddenly Silent As Stormy Daniels Testimony Turns Out to Be a Nothingburger | It happens frequently – weather reports promise bad activity in your area and then you awaken to clear skies and no activity. Meteorologists have little in the way of accountability, as they get to wave off their off-target predictions with explanations of an unforeseen atmospheric influence leading to their faulty forecast; somehow their inability to predict what threw off their prediction is excusable, and they go back to promising what will happen next.
This is a case that normally would warrant, at most, a misdemeanor charge. But Alvin Bragg is following through on his campaign brag to punish Donald Trump, elevating his charges to a felonious case. The Department of Justice and the Federal Election Commission had previously looked over the accusations and waved them off, which was the first sign that this is all a sham.
The press wants you to think otherwise. The preamble to the Stormy appearance was full of promise that she would bring down Trump. This was laughable. She was already a compromised witness, had previously lost in court to the man, and what she could possibly reveal concerning the charges was negligible at best. That level of objectivity however was scant to be found in the media.
This is all you need to know about how poorly this came off. If there was anything legitimately valid to scorch Trump with regarding her appearance, it would have been blasted and broadcast. For the press to shrink away like this means that not only was there no valid content in Daniels' testimony, but they realized how bad it looked.
Highlighting it would only detract from the prosecution's case further. Things aren't getting any better this week as the thoroughly discredited Michael Cohen takes the stand. It basically promises to become even worse for their case. | Read more updates here |
